Because we didn't want to miss the biggest event held by Green Leaders Group this year which is GLAM Night.

20th Annual Celebration of Hai O Marketing

Recently, Hai O Marketing had organised its 20th Annual Anniversary on 24th November 2012 which was held in Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam. This massive event had gathered an vast amount of 10000 entrepreneurs from all over Malaysia. This event was meant to celebrate those who had qualified to be a Crown Diamond Manager (CDM). Nothing can best describe an event except pictures. So I let the photos tell you the whole story. Enjoice.

Dayang Nurfaizah was also invited to mesmerize the crowd. We did enjoy her smooth yet strong vocal. (Curlasss kau Dayang!)

This entry is mainly written to establish an understanding of what slipped disc is, precautions against it and ways of curing it. 

DEFINITION

DISC is basically a protective shock-absorbing pads between the bones in your spine which is shown in the picture below.

I quote from E-Medicine Health:

"Although they do not actually "slip," a disk may move, split, or rupture. This can cause the disk cartilage and nearby tissue to fail (herniate), allowing the inner gel portion of the disk to escape into the surrounding tissue. This leaking jelly-like substance can place pressure on the spinal cord or on an adjacent nerve to cause symptoms of pain, numbness, or weakness either around the damaged disk or anywhere along the area supplied by that nerve."

 

WHY IT HAPPENS?

Many are unaware that a single excessive strain or exercise may cause a slipped disc. Disc material (gel) degenerates naturally as we age (like collagen), and the ligaments that hold it in place begin to weaken. Therefore, one minor exaggerated movement can cause a disc to misplace. This usually happens to those who are actively involve in sports during their young age but later stop drastically. Once they try to actively involve again, they tend to over-do-it and that is when slip disc and other muscle pain kick in. 

PRECAUTIONS

1. SQUAT DOWN

If possible, squat down whenever your try to pick up things on the lower surface. DO NOT bend you upper body while straightening your legs as this may put too much pressure on your spine and later can cause a disc to slip.

2. FOOD INTAKE

Watch your food intake. Avoid taking too much caffeine, bicarbonate drinks, food with excessive artificial colouring, food enhancer and flavourings. 

3. EXERCISE REGULARLY

 Do a light exercise at least 3 times a week. DO YOGA. It works!!

Enrol for a series of therapy sessions with the expert. You'll be carefully monitored during the treatment which involves to strengthen your muscle movement. Be mind to bear the consultation fees and treatment fee aftwerwards. It is EXPENSIVE!!!.

Excessive Antibiotics Can Kill

I guess all of us are familiar with this very term "antibiotics". Bila pergi hospital mesti dapat ubat ni. For that reason, it is undoubtedly has saved so may lives from viral and bacterial infections. 

BUT!

Apparently, we often heard in the media nowadays regarding excessive use of antibiotics which has come to my interest to dig more about it. Surprisingly, the fact that we have used too much antibiotics is true.

Fact 1: Misuse of prescription

"A truly disturbing practice is the prescribing of antibiotics by some doctors to treat colds, coughs, runny noses or flu. Most upper respiratory infections are viral. Treating them with antibiotics is clear and blatant misuse, since the drugs kill only bacteria and are of no value at all in treating viral infections. There are treatments that can relieve the symptoms of a cold, but there is no drug (over-the-counter or prescription) that will cure a cold." 

I think most of us, the consumers who is non-medical-practitioner, do not know about this fact. The only thing we know is to get antibiotics in order to kill the germs that cause fever and cold. But the reality is Antibiotics do not just get rids off the pathogenic or “bad” bacteria. "They also cold heartedly destroy the beneficial bacteria necessary and vital to good health". Hence, that is why we are said consuming excessive antibiotics. 

Fact 2: Meat and Poultry (i.e. chicken)

It has been ages that meat and poultry industry uses growth-promoting antibiotics. Initially, the intention of is mainly to keep the chicken alive in such a stressful, unsanitary conditions, and to speed up their growth. 

Nevertheless, I quote,"scientists have raised concerns that, in conjunction with the general overuse of antibiotics in humans, this use of "sub-therapeutic" levels of antibiotics in food animals may lead to serious health risks for people. " (you can read the full article here).

Inilah sebab kenapa "ayam modern" cepat sgt membesar. Dalam masa 3 bulan dh boleh tuai & jual kt pasaran. The ugly truth is the chicken is not even healhty.

Moreover, the practice of giving excessive antibiotics leads to new strains of drug or antibiotic-resistant in human E. Coli infections.  (Dalam bahasa mudahnye, sistem immuniti badan seseorang dh lali dgn bacterial infection sebab dh bacteria kebal and bebal). 

The mechanism of macrolide antibiotic resistance in S. antibioticus.

E Coli causes infection in blood stream which primarily derived from food animal sources. With no further examination on health, the infection can lead to the worst situation which is DEAD! 

In UK alone, many has been reported with E Coli infection that causes blood poisoning cases and 8000 has died.(read here) 

So you see, how serious the situation is. Kita mungkin tak perasan atau mengambil berat akan hal sebegini kerana sekarang ni mungkin apa yang kita makan tidak memberi kesan yang cepat. Tp let me clarify, kesan ini mengambil masa yang panjang and lets give in 10 years time, apa akn jad?Sama mcm merokok, ia memberi kesan jangka lama yang boleh meragut nyawa pengguna.

First and foremost when we board and airplane, we have to listen to a lengthy explanation of safety measures that we should follow.

BORINGGGGGGGGGGGG! 

However, I find an effort made by Air New Zealand to escape from the usual and bored-to-death video is interesting. 

When I was travelling back and forth from Auckland to Wellington, there was this video of naked painted aircraft crew members who briefed about the safety measures. It was totally embarassing at certain point but later I found that was creative and a good marketing startegy. hehehe.

Back then they featured naked guys and gals but now they injected hired most of Lord Of The Rings (LOTR) stars. They had Gandalf, Hobbits, Smeagol or Gollum. Air NZ seriously know how to tickle people's mind with their ideas. Bravo!!

WHO IS THAT PERSON?

A rising star from The Voice Uk, Bo Bruce definitely has the extraordinary zest to her voice. Soft, sharp quirky and unique are the adjectives suitable to describe her magnificent vocal. 

Bo has brought me back to the moment where The Cranberries were on to the top in the musical industry. The feeling of listening to her songs (cover) and Cranberries' is exactly the same. So tranquil, so soothing and so ease. There is NO crying-out-loud kinda vocal that can explode your ear drums.  

Currently, she has a crush in her sleeve who is not a mere commoner but a megastar, Danny  O' Donoghue. (GIRLS, hold on your jealousy. haha)
